Glenn Fisher, cello, grew up playing chamber music with his family. He played in orchestra through college and was principal cellist of the Peninsula Symphony for 20 years. His teachers include Gabor Reijto, Margaret Rowell, and currently Stephen Harrison. He enjoys chamber music, hiking, travel, and grandkids.
Irene Herrmann, cello, is an active chamber music musician in the greater Bay Area. As staff accompanist at UCSC for 20 years, she performed with their choirs and was rehearsal accompanist for the opera program. She also plays Italian traditional music on mandolin with Duo Pizzicato and plays and teaches American Old-time music on fiddle and cello. She had a long musical friendship with author/composer Paul Bowles and is the executor of his music estate.
Ching Shih, piano, was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She majored in Piano Performance and graduated with a Masters in Music from the University of Washington in 2003, then moved to the Bay Area in 2004. She joined the Fortnightly Music Club in 2007. She lives in San Francisco and enjoys performing classical music.
Sue Soong, viola, started to play violin at age three and viola in her teens. Her music training included Suzuki summer workshops, Meadowmount, and The Quartet Program. She has degrees from Stanford University and University of Buffalo School of Law, where she played music professionally on the side. She has worked for the federal judiciary for 30 years.
Gayle Tsern Strang, violin, began studies at age 10. She has played with the Berkeley Symphony, YMF Orchestra, and the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony. Gayle serves on the Board of Trustees for the Del Sol Quartet and with Villa Sinfonia Foundation for youth music education. She is an architect for education and large-scale residential projects.
Alex Wang, violin, is a software engineer by trade, but a musician-at-heart who enjoys playing a variety of music genres. Currently based in Santa Clara, he performs regularly with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Players as well as several musical theater pit orchestras in the Bay Area. Prior to moving north, Alex lived in the greater San Diego area, where he performed with the La Jolla Symphony during the year and served as Concertmaster for the Villa Musica Summer Orchestra during the off-season.
